Field Hockey to Host No. 16 Wake Forest

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Wildcat field hockey team will wrap up a three-game home stand on Tuesday when they host the No. 16 Wake Forest Demon Deacons in a 6 p.m. game at Belk Turf Field.
VS. WAKE FOREST
The 2012-13 season marks the 49th time in program history that Davidson will face Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons enter the match-up with a 30-16-2 series lead since the first meeting back in 1976. The series is one of the oldest in Davidson history, as it dates back to the first ever season of competition for Wildcat field hockey.
SCOUTING THE DEMON DEACONS
Wake Forest enters the game after being upset by the MAC's Ohio Bobcats 3-2 in double overtime. The squad is 4-7 overall and 1-2 in the ACC, having faced eight other ranked opponents this season. The Demon Deacons have previously faced a NorPac opponent, taking an 8-0 victory from Appalachian State on Sept. 14. Jess McFadyen's seven goals and 16 points lead the way for Wake Forest, while goalkeeper Kaitlyn Ruhf boasts a 2.25 GAA and .697 saves percentage on the season.
RANK 'EM
The Demon Deacons will be the third nationally ranked opponent the 'Cats have played this season. Davidson has also faced No. 25 Richmond on Sept. 16 and took on No. 2 North Carolina on Sept. 25.
FISHER HONORED AGAIN
Senior goalkeeper Sarah Fisher earned the NorPac East's Defensive Player of the Week award for the second straight week. Fisher finished with a .909 save percentage and a GAA of 0.85 to help the 'Cats go 2-0 on the weekend. She recorded 20 saves between a 4-0 win over App. State and a 3-2 shootout victory vs. Longwood.
