Fisher Earns NorPac Honors for Second Straight Week

DAVIDSON, N.C. – For the second consecutive week and the third time this season, Davidson field hockey goalkeeper Sarah Fisher has been honored by the NorPac with the league's Defensive Player of Week award for the East Division as announced on Monday.
Fisher recorded 20 saves on the week to help the Wildcats go 2-0 in NorPac play. She made six stops in a 4-0 win over Appalachian State on Tuesday before making an impressive 14 saves in 100 minutes of play vs. Longwood. Fisher did not give up a goal in either extra period, forcing the game to a shootout. She was then able to make a crucial stop in the shootout to assure the 'Cats the 3-2 win. Fisher, who ranks fourth all-time with 325 career saves, finished the week with a GAA of 0.85 and a .909 saves percentage.
The Fredericksburg, Va., native previously earned the honor on September 4 and October 2. She is one of five Wildcats to be honored by the NorPac East, as the 'Cats have earned eight accolades this season.
Davidson will host No. 16 Wake Forest in a 6 p.m. match-up on Tuesday at Belk Turf Field.
