Fisher Earns Fifth NorPac Award

RADFORD, Va. – Her performance to wrap up the regular season has earned Davidson field hockey goalkeeper Sarah Fisher her fifth weekly honor as she was named the NorPac East Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Fisher finished the weekend with a 1.50 goals against average and a save percentage of .842 to help the team to a 1-1 record. She made a total of 16 saves, including four vs. Radford to pick up her second shutout win of the season. Fisher also had 12 stops in the team's loss to Liberty to finish out the regular season.
Claiming the honor five out of ten weeks this season, Fisher ranks 10th in the NCAA with 7.58 saves per game for a total of 144 on the season. She boasts a save percentage of .762 and a goals against average of 2.29 on the season. In NorPac action, Fisher's GAA is 1.72 with a save percentage of .808.
The Wildcats will travel to the NorPac Tournament in Farmville, Va., this week. As the No. 3 seed in the East division they are slated to take on the West division's No. 2 seed UC Davis on Thursday at 11 a.m.
