DAVIDSON, N.C. – Head coach Ginny Turner announced the Davidson field hockey team's 2012 spring schedule, which includes a pair of tournaments and an alumnae weekend.
“Spring is a time for us to devote individual attention to players, focus on technique, train our weaknesses and build on what we accomplished last season,” said Turner. “Not only is this a great opportunity to learn new skills and tackle our goals, but a time when our team will build leaders, develop team chemistry and lay the groundwork for our style of play.”
The Wildcats will first compete in a spring tournament at Duke on March 17, which will include the host Blue Devils, North Carolina, Michigan, Virginia and William & Mary. Davidson will then host a tournament at Belk Turf Field on March 31. Teams slated to compete are Appalachian State, Radford, Liberty and Limestone.
“The tournaments we have set will be a great way to compete against some tough teams, evaluate where we are and determine what we need to work on,” said Turner.
The 'Cats will then host an Alumnae Weekend game on April 14. Details for the alum weekend will be available soon.
