Field Hockey Returns to Kookaburra/NFHCA Receiving Votes List

CHANDLER, Ariz. - The Davidson field hockey team returned to the Kookaburra/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Top 20 poll receiving votes list Tuesday after strong non-conference performances over the weekend.

The 'Cats earned a 2-1 double-overtime victory at William & Mary Saturday, but then dropped a close 2-1 match at VCU Sunday. Davidson earned one vote in the most recent poll, ranking right behind William & Mary (four) and VCU (three).

Davidson is the lone NorPac East team to receive recognition, while NorPac West members Stanford and California moved up to ninth and 11th, respectively

The Wildcats will next travel to No. 16 Albany for a match Saturday at 1 p.m. No. 1 North Carolina is also on the 'Cats' schedule, as Davidson visits Chapel Hill Sunday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m.
