Davidson Hosts First Athletic Scholarship Dinner

Athletic donors to Davidson College know that their gifts make a difference in the life of student athletes. Davidson student athletes know that they are on athletic scholarship due to the generous gifts from Davidson donors. Both groups are invested in the success of Davidson College and on Thursday, November 10, approximately 60 donors and student athletes were on hand at this intimate affair to celebrate their commitments.
Davidson's office of Donor Relations, with assistance from the Davidson Athletic Foundation, hosted donors, student athletes, coaches, and athletic staff for an athletic scholarship dinner in the Lilly Family Gallery of Chambers Building. Connections between these groups provided a deeper insight for all attendees into the commitment to athletics that exists between current student athletes, coaches, and donors.
Davidson President Carol Quillen welcomed all guests, while Director of Athletics Jim Murphy '78 gave updates on the program. Andrew Barna '13 spoke on behalf of all the Davidson scholar athletes in attendance and Board of Trustees Chair Mackey McDonald '68 gave closing remarks.
