DAF Targets Student Athletes In Wildcat Top 21: Senior Edition

Each spring the Davidson Athletic Foundation launches is annual Wildcat Top 21 Challenge to encourage healthy competition by tracking the annual giving from athletic alumni of each of Davidson's 21 NCAA Division I teams. During the months of May and June, weekly emails charting the Wildcat Top 21 progress are sent to all alumni varsity athletes. In last year's Wildcat Top 21, lacrosse alumnae had the highest team giving percentage with women's soccer and baseball following a close second and third.
This year, the DAF has expanded this effort to include senior class athletes. A separate Wildcat Top 21: Senior Edition tracks the DAF giving of solely the Class of 2012 athletes as they are encouraged to participate in their Senior Class Gift. Wildcat Top 21: Senior Edition emails are sent on a monthly basis to all senior athletes.
Additionally, DAF staff members have met with each sports team to encourage senior athlete support of the DAF. These meetings have the extra benefit of educating all current athletes about the DAF's partnership with alumni, parents, and friends in raising operating budget and scholarship support for Davidson's 21 NCAA Division I teams. To date, 72 of 89 senior athletes have made a commitment to their Senior Class Gift.
“The goal is to educate our current athletes on the importance of giving back to the DAF in honor of their athletic experiences,” explains assistant director Anna Mitchell.
“By contributing to the DAF today, each senior athlete is starting a personal commitment and joining the ranks of thousands of other alumni, parents, and friends in ensuring Davidson's athletic excellence.”
