Tennessee, UNC Games to Be Among 15 Broadcast by Davidson W. Basketball

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson women's basketball fans this year can hear the entire slate of home games, along with big matchups against Tennessee and UNC on the road and all post-season games live on www.davidsonwildcats.com.
Long-time announcer Derek Smith will call the action on-line again this year.
Smith, who first came to Davidson as an assistant sports information director in 1999, has been the voice of the Davidson women's program since the 2003-04 season. He serves as the public address announcer for the football teams at Davidson College and Ardrey Kell High School. He has also broadcast soccer for Davidson College and the Southern Conference and served as a color analyst for the SoCon women's basketball tournament. In addition to his broadcasting duties, he covers the Charlotte Bobcats for NBA.com. Smith works full-time for Wells Fargo Institutional Retirement and Trust in Charlotte.
In addition to all 11 homes games being heard through the davidsonwildcats.com video streaming packages, Davidson will broadcast a total of four road games, starting with the Wildcats' season-opening Preseason WNIT contest at North Carolina, Nov. 9 at 5 p.m. In addition, games at Gardner-Webb, Dec. 13, cross-county rival Charlotte, Dec. 21 and national powerhouse Tennessee, Dec. 28, will all be heard through TEAMLINE on davidsonwildcats.com.
Each broadcast will consist of a pre-game show 10 minutes before the tipoff and a post-game show featuring coach Savage and the Davidson Radio Network Player of the Game.
The 2012 Southern Conference Tournament will be held in Asheville, N.C., March 8-11 and those games as well as any additional post-season games will also be broadcast on davidsonwildcats.com.
Streaming audio of the game is free of charge via TEAMLINE while video streams of home games is offered through Davidson Wildcats All-Access which is powered by SIDEARM Showcase. Single-game and season subscriptions are available for purchase.
Davidson opens the 2012-13 campaign with the preseason WNIT, the second time in program history it has been invited to participate. The Wildcats will get three games out of it. The reigning Co-Southern Conference regular season champions return 12 letterwinners, including four of their five starters.
