Field Hockey Announces Spring Schedule

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson field hockey head coach Ginny Turner announced the Wildcats' 2011 spring schedule Thursday, which includes a play day and a 7-on-7 round robin tournament for high school athletes at Belk Turf Field.
The 'Cats will host a spring play day Saturday, Apr. 2 that is tentatively set to start at 10:30 a.m., which will include Davidson alumnae, Appalachian State, Radford and Limestone. Alumnae, parents, and friends of the Davidson field hockey team are welcome to the postgame reception in Tomlinson Hall at 6 p.m. and are asked to R.S.V.P. to Ginny Turner at gisutton@davidson.edu.
Davidson will once again host the Wildcat Challenge 7v7 Tournament for high school players on Saturday, Mar. 19. The round robin tournament will run from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. at Davidson College's Belk Turf Field. Players can sign up as a team or as individuals to be assigned to a team. The teams will play with six field players and one goalkeeper. All of the officiated games will last 25 minutes with each team competing for the first-place prize. Interested participants should review the tournament flyer and contact Ginny Turner at gisutton@davidson.edu to sign up.
The Wildcats will participate in their first spring play day of the season at William & Mary on Saturday Mar. 26. Appalachian State, Radford, American, VCU and Richmond are also slated to participate.
