ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Davidson field hockey sophomore forward Finley Amato was named to the Womensfieldhockey.com Division I honor roll for the week of October 25-31, the website announced Wednesday.
Amato was one of eight players recognized across the country for the week.
After giving the Wildcats (13-6, 5-1 NorPac) a 1-0 lead Friday against Radford, Amato (Lake Forest, Ill.) scored the overtime-winner to give Davidson a 3-2 win and guarantee at least a share of the NorPac East Division title. Amato added a goal and an assist Sunday against Appalachian State as Davidson cruised to a 6-1 victory to earn their first outright division title and finish with a program-best 5-1 NorPac record. She was named the NorPac East Offensive Player of the Week.
Amato is the second Davidson Wildcat to be honored by Womensfieldhockey, com this season, as classmate Sarah Fisher (Fredericksburg, Va.) was named to their honor roll for the week of September 20-26.
Amato leads the NorPac in scoring with 15 goals and five assists for 35 points. She needs just one more point to tie the Davidson single-season record for points scored.
Davidson will host the NorPac Conference Tournament Thursday-Saturday and enter as the East Division's top seed. The Wildcats will play the fourth seed from the West Division, Pacific, in the first round Thursday at 4 p.m.
