Senior setter Hayley Lawson turned in a double-double with 29 assists and 12 digs, and senior libero Jennifer Chamblee led the defense with 23 digs.

Behind a 6-1 run, Davidson took a 15-11 lead in the opening set, which was tied at every point through 10-10. Furman got within a point, 15-14, on three straight Wildcat errors but Davidson pushed back with a 4-0 run, including a pair of kills from junior outside hitter Christine Perzinski. The Paladins responded with an 8-1 run to take a 22-20 lead, but a pair of Furman errors knotted the set at 22 to give Davidson another try. Kills from Ambrester and Katherine Hall gave Furman a set-point chance, 24-22, but Benedict fought it off. Adams, though, put away a pass from Kirby to lift Furman to the 25-23 come-from-behind win.

Leading 6-5, Furman opened an 11-6 lead, on kills from Kirby and Braun, to start the second set. After a quick timeout, Davidson cut the lead to 15-11 on a pair of kills from Peele and one from Lawson, but Furman closed out the set with a 10-3 spurt to take a 25-13 win for the 2-0 lead in the match.

In the final set, Davidson rallied from a 5-7 deficit to lead 13-9 behind an 8-2 run that included three kills from junior opposite Erin Lupfer. Furman won the next four points to knot the set at 13, but Davidson kept fighting, winning the next two on Furman errors. The Paladins tied the set at 16 with a 3-1 run, but Davidson again went ahead two on a kill by Lawson and a Furman error. But the Paladins won the next three scores on a kill from Ambrester and a pair from Adams to take a 19-18 lead, and closed with a 6-2 run for the 25-20 win for the match.

Davidson returns to action tomorrow when it hosts Wofford (12-17, 2-9) at 2 p.m. at Belk Arena. The Terriers dropped a 3-0 decision to Georgia Southern in Statesboro tonight.
