Annie Evans Named NorPac East Division Rookie of the Week

DAVIDSON, N.C. - After scoring the game-winner to lift Davidson to an overtime victory on her first career goal, freshman Annie Evans was named the NorPac East Division Rookie of the Week for the week of Sept. 8, as announced today by the league office.
It is the second-straight Rookie of the Week honor for the Wildcats, following fellow freshman Finley Amato's win in the season's first week.
Evans netted the game-winner at the 75:53 mark in the extra period on her first career shot, a point-blank attempt that found its way past the Georgetown goalkeeper and into the net for the Wildcats' second-straight win.
The Lake Forest, Ill. native becomes the fifth Rookie of the Week award recipient in program history, a group that includes Amato and current teammate Christa Goeke.
The Wildcats will hit the field for a mid-week matchup tonight against No. 4 North Carolina at 6:00 p.m. at Belk Turf Field, then will continue their home stand against Indiana on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 3:00 p.m
