Finley Amato leads the team in scoring

Finley Amato Earns Second NorPac East Rookie of the Week Award

RADFORD, Va. – Freshman Finley Amato was named the Northern Pacific Field Hockey Conference East Division Rookie of the Week by the conference office on Tuesday after leading the Wildcats' offense against Radford.
Amato (Lake Forest, Ill.) scored in a 3-1 loss to Radford on Wednesday. The play started on a penalty corner as Amato was positioned near the right goal post. Junior Clare Perry (Winston-Salem, N.C.) then found her for the goal.
This is the second time this season that Amato has been honored. She was named as the first recipient of 2009 after scoring her first career goal in a 1-0 win over Sacred Heart.
Through eight weeks, Davidson has claimed half of the weekly rookie honors. Annie Evans (Lake Forest, Ill.) earned it the second week, while Brit Donaldson (Charlotte, N.C.) was honored during the first week of October.
The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday when they seek to avenge an early season loss to Appalachian State. The Mountaineers will take on the 'Cats at 12 p.m. at Belk Turf Field.
