Wildcat Men's Track and Field Competes at Duke Invitational over Weekend

DURHAM, N.C.— The Davidson men's track and field team competed at the Duke/Asics Invitational on Friday and Saturday, with the 4x400-meter relay team leading the way for the Wildcats at Wallace Wade Stadium. Davidson placed at least one runner or field member in the top-25 of five different events over the weekend.
The 4x400-meter relay team earned the highest finish when the four-man team crossed the finish line in seventh place with a time of 3:18.28. Just last weekend the Wildcats set a school record in the event with a time of 3:18.01.
Individually, senior Jim Walter (Solon, Ohio) had the best finish of either the runners or field members when he placed 11th in the discus. The senior school-record holder in the event picked up a throw of 141' 6", good for 11th out of 33 throwers.
Fellow senior Douglas Noreen (Apex, N.C.) continued his strong senior season with a top Wildcat time in the 1500-meter. He crossed the finish line with a time of 3:55.36 to earn an 18th place finish on Friday afternoon.
Another senior, Cisco Morales (Santiago, Chile), competed in the 400-meter hurdles and came in with a final time of 57.79 to earn a top-25 finish with a 24th place mark.
Finally, senior John Bialas (Auburn, Mass.) and JinHan Justin Song (Seoul, Korea) also captured top-25 performances for Davidson over the weekend. Bialas, who competed in the long jump, picked up an 18th place finish with a jump of 20' 7 3/4". Song ran in the 200-meter and registered a time of 22.58, good for 16th out of 58 runners in the event.
Davidson next heads to Radford, Va. for the Radford Invitational, which takes place on Saturday, Apr. 14.
