A three-time All-Southern Conference selection and third-team Academic All-American, Frend holds seven team records – a standout player at the plate and on the mound. No Wildcat has played in more games, had more at-bats or had more hits than Frend. He holds team records for home runs in a single inning (2), and career grand slams (3). Frend also holds team records for career total bases and extra base hits. Frend led the team all four years in RBIs, ranking second all-time at Davidson. He ranks second in career doubles and third with career home runs. Frend was named the team’s rookie of the year in 1999, and MVP in 2001 and 2002, and he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals after graduation.
