Churchill Hooff was a 7-time individual conference (Southern States) champion, and at one time, held school records in the 200, 500 and 1650 free, which he set during the 1996 season. He also was a part of two championship relays, also Southern States, making him an overall 9-time champion. He still ranks in the top-10 of the Davidson record books in the1650 Free, 200 Free, 500 Free and 1000 Free. Freshman year, he was the 500 Free and placed second in the 200 and 1650 Free at Southern States. During his sophomore year, Hooff was awarded the top male swimmer for the Southern States, and he won the 200, 500 and 1650 Free. As a junior, he placed second in two events (500 and 1650 Free) and first in the 200 Free at the Southern States Championships, and helped the 400 Medley Relay team break the school record. A team captain as a senior, Hooff won the 500 and 1650 Free and second in the 200 Free. He was recognized with the Billy Ray High Point Award and Dick Redding Most Valuable Award in 1996. He was the team MVP in ’93, ’94 and ’96.  Churchill is currently a commercial real estate attorney living in Alexandria, Virginia with my wife and four young daughters.
