Heather J. Mckee joined the Davidson field hockey staff as a volunteer assistant coach in August  2015.
 
McKee, a 1987 graduate of Davidson College, is no stranger to the college’s athletic programs. While at Davidson, McKee served as captain of the basketball and field hockey teams, participated on the golf and track and field teams and received the Susan K. Roberts Awards for Outstanding Dedication and Contribution to Davidson Athletics. McKee, a four-time all Deep South honoree and a two-time All-Southeast selection helped her team to a bronze medal at the 1984 US National Junior Olympics. McKee was also named to the Southern Conference All-Decade Field Hockey team for the 1980’s.
 
After earning a Masters of Divinity in 1994 from Princeton Theological Seminary, she was named the Director of the Bonner Scholars Program and The Center for Service Learning at Mars Hill College. From there, McKee served as Grants Manager/Grant Writer with the Milwaukee Indian Health Board.  In 1998, she became Program Director at the Medical College of Wisconsin Institute of Health Policy and Instructor in Medical Ethics. She continued her work in health policy at Harvard Medical School focusing on finance and delivery system reform and large scale clinical outcome research until 2005. In 2009, McKee accepted the position of Executive Director of the Sublette Center in Pinedale, Wyoming.
 
McKee currently resides in Davidson, N.C. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Davidson Housing Coalition and the Finance Committee of Davidson College Presbyterian Church. She is a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and Blythe Elementary School.
