Kristen O’Rourke comes to Davidson after spending four seasons at the University of Richmond as an assistant coach/goalkeeper specialist. She worked directly with the goalkeepers and defense while also putting together scouting reports, organizing team travel and recruiting efforts.
While at Richmond, the Williamsburg, Va., native helped the Spiders to Atlantic 10 Championships and NCAA appearances in 2009 and 2011.
Under her guidance, the defense was continually tops in the nation. Most recently in 2013, the staff was ranked first in the country in save percentage and No. 2 in goals against average as Richmond’s Anna Zarkoski was tabbed an First Team All-American in net.
Additionally, O’Rourke founded Next Level By KO in 2012, a company dedicated to providing premier field hockey goalkeeping training. As the Director, O’Rourke is responsible for organizing and operating clinics.
O’Rourke also assisted as several camps including Let’s Play USA Camps, the University of Richmond’s Field Hockey camp and the James Madison Field Hockey Goalkeeping Clinic
O’Rourke graduated from James Madison, where she played goalkeeper, and helped the Dukes to three consecutive CAA Championships and NCAA appearances.
She graduated with a bachelor of science in Kinesiology with a concentration in sports management and a minor in business.
