Davidson Sits in Fifth After Day 2 of A-10 Championships

GENEVA, Ohio – Strong performances in the 50-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle relay highlighted the second day of competition for Davidson at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Swmming and Diving Championship.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Luke Burton and Cameron Bard finished fourth and sixth, respectively, grabbing 28 points for Davidson in the process. Burton touched the wall in 20.35, while Bard clocked a 20.77. Colin MacKay claimed 13th in the consolation heat.
Freshman Clay Resweber swam to a first-place finish in the consolation heat of the 500-freestlye. Resweber shed nearly two seconds off his time to clock a 4:28.43.
In the final event of the night, Davidson, St. Bonaventure, Saint Louis and George Mason were neck-and-neck the whole time through the 200-yard freestyle relay, eventually seeing just 0.81 between the four as they touched the wall. George Mason claimed first with a time of 1:20.30 in the blistering race, followed by Saint Louis's finish of 1:20.49, St. Bonaventure's 1:20.87 and Davidson's 1:21.11. The four Wildcats – Burton, Bard, MacKay and Brandon Kegley grabbed 30 points for Davidson.
The Wildcats return to the pool tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. for the third day of A-10 Championships.
