Day 1 Results
GENEVA, Ohio – After the first day of the 2015 Atlantic 10 Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, Davidson holds fourth place by a slim margin, thanks to great heats between the lanes – including a record setting 800 freestyle relay.
With 69 points, the Wildcats trail La Salle, by a mere nine points, Richmond (101) and Massachusetts (139) heading into Day 2. Behind Davidson sits Duquesne (64), Fordham (60), Rhode Island (42), St. Bonaventure (38) and George Washington (14) to round out the conference.
The 800 free relay unit of Elise Lankiewicz, Meredith Nakano, Anna Blair Bullock and Angie Healy set a new A-10 conference record, an A-10 Championship meet record as well as a new pool record, hustling to a first place finish. The Wildcats touched the wall in 7:16.81, over five seconds faster than the next relay team.
Earlier in the day, Davidson posted another strong relay time. The 200-medley relay foursome took sixth. Kassie Shannon, Katy Williams, Bullock and Healy combined for a time of 1:43.56, to set a new Davidson program record.
Davidson returns to the pool Friday at 10 a.m. to begin Session 3 on Day 2 at Spire Institute.
