• The Wildcats open Southern Conference play with a road contest at The Citadel.
• The game begins a three-game road swing for the 'Cats, which includes a conference game at College of Charleston and a matchup against No. 17/16 Gonzaga in the Battle in Seattle.
• The contest also begins a stretch in which the Wildcats play five of their next six on the road. Davidson is searching for its first win away from home.
• Davidson has won its last five SoCon openers, and three of those have come on the road.
• Davidson was in Charleston two weeks ago playing in the Charleston Classic in Carolina First Arena. The 'Cats went 0-3 in the tourney.
• The Wildcats are coming off a 75-65 home loss to Rhode Island Saturday.
• The Citadel is fresh off a 67-53 win over Central Connecticut State Monday, which gave the Bulldogs the Skip Prosser Man of the Year Tournament title.
• The Bulldogs have won two straight overall and own a 3-1 record in McAlister Field House.
• The Citadel is in the middle of a six-game homestand.
• The Bulldogs return 11 lettermen and three starters from the 2008-09 squad, which posted a 20-13 overall record and a 15-5 SoCon mark, tying for second place in the league.
• Cameron Wells leads the team in scoring 17.1 points a game to go along with 4.6 assists a contest.
• Seven-foot University of Washington transfer Joe Wolfinger averages 14.1 points and 7.4 rebounds a contest, while Zach Urbanus scores 11.8 points a contest.
Series History
• The Wildcats lead the all-time series, which began in the 1925-26 season, 89-44.
• Davidson has won 14 of the last 15 overall against the Bulldogs and has won the last six meetings in McAlister Field House.
• The Citadel won the last contest in the series, a 64-46 victory in Belk Arena last February.
• Demetrius Nelson tallied 22 points and 14 rebounds in that contest, while Cameron Wells recorded 15 points and eight boards.
• Andrew Lovedale posted 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Brendan McKillop netted 15.
• It was the only contest in 2008-09 the Wildcats played without leading scorer Stephen Curry, and the 46 points was a season low for Davidson.
Leftovers from Rhode Island
• It was the first meeting between Rhode Island and Davidson since the 1966 NCAA Tournament.
• Including his 15 years as a high school coach, it was Bob McKillop's 950th career contest. 606 of those have been at Davidson.
• The 'Cats are now 27-5 against non-conference opponents in Belk Arena since 2003.
• The Rams are the second Atlantic 10 opponent Davidson will face this season, and the 'Cats are 0-2.
Claw Marks
• Davidson's bench has outscored its opponent in every game this season.
• As of Dec. 1, the combined record of the teams Davidson has lost to this season is 23-7.
• With 110 career games played, Steve Rossiter and Bryant Barr are both 20 games away from the school record, set by Andrew Lovedale 2005-09.
• The Wildcats played their first four games away from home. It's the first time they have started a season with four road games since 2000-01. Davidson opened the season with three contests at the Top of the World Classic in Fairbanks, Alaska, before traveling to Georgia Tech that season.
• It's the latest Davidson has opened its home schedule since the 2002-03 campaign, when the 'Cats' first home game was Nov. 30 against Washington & Lee.
